For sale here is an original vintage roll down school chart of. COCKCHAFERS - Jung Koch Quentell. Produced by Hagemann in Dusseldorf, Germany in 1963. This beautifully illustrated lithograph shows the lifecycle and external anatomy of the cockchafer also known as the May bug or doodlebug.
(without poles 81cm x 112cm). Printed on paper, it is backed with canvas and has black wooden poles top and bottom. This chart has spent most of its life rolled up in a school cupboard so the colours are still bright.
This chart is in excellent condition, some light wear to the edges. These old charts were produced as educational tools for schools and colleges by. Teacher Heinrich Jung, artist and biologist Gottlieb von Koch and. College director, Doctor Friedrich Quentell. The dark background acts as a chalkboard which allowed teachers.
To annotate them during the lesson. First published by Frommann and Morian in the early 1900's Hagemann became involved in the production around 1948 first in conjunction with Frommann and Morian then on their own from around 1963. You can find modern reprints of these charts from many online sellers but they lack the atmosphere and history of the vintage ones. All of our charts are genuine second hand vintage items, sourced from schools and antique markets across Europe.
We have many other charts and maps for sale so be sure to check our shop. All charts are tracked, insured and sent in eco-wrap and cardboard tubes. This item is in the category "Collectables\Decorative Collectables\Other Decorative Collectables".
