Produced Hagemann, Dusseldorf, Germany in the 1970s. This beautifully illustrated chart shows the domestic cat. The skeleton, skull, tongue eyes and paws can be seen on the lower half. Printed on paper and backed with canvas, this chart has a black wooden dowel top and bottom. It has spent most of it's life rolled up in a cupboard so the colours are still fresh and bright.
The condition of this chart is very good just light edge wear, a scratch near the middle and a few small blemishes as can be seen in the photos. There is also a band of cross weave filament tape along the bottom on the back strengthening an area that is prone to tearing. These old charts were produced as educational tools for schools and colleges by teacher Heinrich Jung, artist and biologist Gottlieb von Koch and college director, Doctor Friedrich Quentell. First published by Frommann and Morian in the early 1900's Hagemann became involved in the production in 1948 first in conjunction with Frommann and Morian then on their own from around 1963. You can find modern reprints of these charts from many online sellers but they lack the atmosphere and history of the vintage ones.
